“The Interview” is coming to on-demand services for Comcast, Time Warner Cable and more
Sony Pictures Entertainment announced Wednesday that there are even more ways to see "The Interview," following a Christmas Eve online release.The studio struck deals with video-on-demand firms to get the film -- which is believed to have prompted hackers to steal thousands of documents from Sony -- into even more homes. In a company press release, Sony said that the movie is now available on demand to customers from: Bright House Networks, Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, Cablevision, AT&T Uverse, Verizon FiOS and DirecTV. The film is also now available on Wal-Mart's Vudu streaming service, and will be coming to Sony's own PlayStation Network starting Thursday.  Read full article »
This was the Internet’s worst, best year ever
This year was a hugely momentous one in the evolution of the global network of networks we call the Internet. Since its creation as a side project of a handful of academics and military researchers in the United States some 50 years ago, the Internet has grown to encompass the whole world. But 2014 was in many ways a mixed bag for the Internet. It showed the Internet at its strongest, reaching more people, more ways than at any point in the past. Innovations: When Internet addiction is actually a good thing
A new study from researchers at the University of Hong Kong claims that 420 million people are addicted to the Internet, about 6 percent of the world’s population. That 6 percent number may not sound high but it is — it’s actually more than three times the rates of pathological gambling observed in even the most gambling-obsessed nations around the world. Taken at face value, this study supports the notion that the rapid rate of technological adoption around the world is being taken way out of control, and that we’re awash in gadgets, phones and digital devices.  Read full article »

Here’s how far every Tesla Model S can go on a single charge
