Earthquakes: 4.5 and 3.0 quakes strike near Castaic

Back-to-back earthquakes centered near Castaic jolted people in Los Angeles and Ventura counties Saturday evening, but no significant damage was reported, according to fire officials.
A shallow magnitude 4.5 earthquake was reported eight miles from Castaic, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:18 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5.0 miles.
About 20 minutes earlier, a magnitude 3.0 quake occured in almost the same spot.
