FUPWG fosters communication between federal agencies, specific sites, and utilities to implement cost-effective energy efficiency and water conservation projects. The Energy Lawyers and Contracting Officers Working Group meeting will be held the afternoon of Thursday, April 23. All FUPWG attendees are welcome to attend this session which features a panel discussion on the basics of the UESC process. NewsDOE and USACE Partner to Drive Down Federal Energy Costs The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and FEMP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) recently to help drive down the federal government’s energy costs through the government-wide adoption of performance contracting processes. Though a great deal of collaboration already exists, a more coordinated effort will capitalize on the existing momentum and more effectively posture the federal government to achieve the President’s Performance Contracting Challenge goal of a government-wide total investment of $4 billion in performance-based contracts through 2016. GSA and DOE Sign MOU to Reduce Energy Use Throughout the Federal Government The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and the Energy Department’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) are committed to making the federal government go green by helping agencies implement solutions for energy-saving buildings, sustainable transportation, and renewable electricity generation. On February 25th, GSA and EERE signed a MOU that highlights how we will work together and with other agencies to reduce energy use throughout the federal government. Energy Efficiency Exchange 2015 Tracks Announced Join project management implementation specialists and subject matter experts at a training event that speaks to the challenges and opportunities of energy consumption, sustainability, energy efficiency and energy security in and across federal agencies. Continuing education units will be offered for designated training sessions. Attendees will have the option of attending their choice of training sessions offered within the following 10 tracks: Solution Showcase, Agency Energy Manager, Energy Technologies, Sustainability, Additional information about the Exchange, which is being held August 11-13 in Phoenix, AZ, is available on the FEMP website or you can contact us. Nomination Period for 2015 Federal Energy and Water Management Awards Open Each year FEMP, in conjunction with the Federal Interagency Energy Management Task Force, sponsors the Federal Energy and Water Management Awards to highlight and honor outstanding federal agency achievements in energy, water, and fleet management. FEMP is also offering a one-hour informational webinar on March 19 that will provide an overview of the 2015 Federal Energy and Water Management Awards criteria and eligibility requirements, as well as tips on how to prepare nomination narratives. The ESPC ENABLE program allows both small and underserved federal sites the opportunity to achieve energy savings through private sector funding using the GSA Schedule.

Back To The Top Conferences and In-Person Training OpportunitiesData Center Energy Practitioner TrainingApril 19-20 - Las Vegas, NV FEMP has partnered with the data center industry to implement a program to standardize the process of evaluating the energy status and efficiency opportunities in data centers. This one- or three- day training will provide individuals with the skills needed to perform accurate energy assessments in data centers. The key objective of the Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) Program is to accelerate energy savings in the dynamic and energy-intensive marketplace of data centers. Students completing the course are eligible to take an examination to become a certified energy practitioner.
