New Videos: Polenta 3 ways, Dishwasher Removal & Viewer Mail!

Hi !

We survived the East Coast storm. Yes, it was less than expected here, but at least people prepared, and there were less accidents because of that. Boston is another story. Snow, lots of it.

If a storm is on its way, how about checking on your neighbors? Might be a good ice breaker for people you haven't met or don't know very well. Pick them up some milk at the store, make a friend.

Polenta - tons of it in the fridge now. Good thing it freezes and the pups love it. Polenta has always had this myth - to me - that you had to stir it constantly for an hour. Kinda like risotto. Enter the pressure cooker and some cheater science to make this easy enough for a weeknight meal.

Of course, we have been gaining lots of experience with pressure cooking, and I wrote a Pressure Cooker Buying Guide on our website. These things are expensive, don't buy the wrong one.

Measuring makes all the difference  As I bake more bread, I've found that using a scale to measure instead of measuring cups makes a huge difference. No Knead Bread comes out great every time, no more of those lunker loaves. I use this $30 scale from OXO
