Afternoon all,

Today’s stories are all about perception. How we perceive a historic figure, how to protect people’s perceptions of a place and how to perceive a big change in your life.

It's sometimes questioned why people didn’t listen to Churchill's warnings about Hitler in the late 1930s. One answer could be that he'd used exactly the same language about Gandhi in the early 1930s. Churchill was not a fan of Gandhi. At one point he implied it would not be a bad thing if he died from fasting. It’s just one Churchill’s more controversial points which are often not mentioned when remembering him. He believed there were racial hierarchies, was prepared to use chemical weapons against Kurds and Afghans and was even paid by oil companies to represent them in front of government.
