CBS pulls stations' signal from Dish Network
Los Angeles Times | December 5, 2014 | 4:22 PM
Television giant CBS has pulled its programming from Dish Network after the two media companies reached an impasse during negotiations late Friday. As of 4 p.m. Pacific time Friday, Dish was no longer authorized to retransmit signals of CBS-owned television stations in 14 markets, including Los Angeles. Los Angeles is Dish’s largest market. The blackout means that, as of Thursday afternoon, Dish’s nearly 500,000 customers in metropolitan Los Angeles no longer receive two CBS-owned stations -- KCBS-TV Channel 2 and KCAL-TV Channel 9 -- as part of their programming packages.
