Is this offensive?

Afternoon all,

If you're not quite sure whether a term is offensive, consider whether you would say it to the person it's about. In their face, all friendly. If it feels funny, it’s probably offensive.

That tip is from a fan of the Washington Redskins American football team. If you don’t think the term "redskin" is offensive, he suggests, next time you see a Native American, go up to them and say “Hey Redskin, how’s your day going?”.

This particular fan is open to changing the name of the team. But the owner says he’ll never change it.
