This video will inspire you to change the world. In the early 1960's in New York City, Dr. Louis Cooper began to see babies who were deaf, blind, and had heart problems. The cause - the rubella virus. Dr. Cooper not only studied congenital rubella syndrome, he helped the children get housing and care, and successfully advocated for new federal laws to help American children access education and vaccines. By invitation of WHO/Nepal, CDC’s Dr. Umid Sharapov spent three weeks in December, 2012 as an international monitor of their measles-rubella (MR) campaign. The Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal introduced rubella-containing vaccine by conducting a wide age range measles-rubella (MR) campaign during 2012-2013.
