Another Reason to Eat Your Veggies
I love vegetables. I eat them raw, steamed, grilled, sautéed, or chopped up and tossed into soups or stews. I understand that not everyone is leaping for joy at the idea of eating veggies, especially picky kids. This seems to hold especially true for those of the cruciferous variety, such as kale, broccoli, and cabbage. There is much to love about the nutrients in these vegetable giants!  Learn all the benefits of a diet rich in cruciferous vegetables.

Featured Recipe: Roasted Turmeric Chicken
Roasting a chicken is easy and delicious, and I love how it makes the whole house smell: comforting and safe. Already a fantastically nutritious source of protein, this meat turns into a Superfood once you add the turmeric! Plus, you can make a chicken last a week by using leftovers for chicken salad and bones for chicken soup.   Get the recipe!

Food for Thought
Parboiling a chicken for 20 to 25 minutes before seasoning and cooking it in the oven is a surefire, though unusual, way to seal in the juices while guaranteeing a crispy, crackling skin. Parboiling also cuts down on roasting time and removes a lot of the fat. It might seem strange, but trust me. One of my dear friends turned me on to this cooking method, and it works. You must try this!
