Yesterday Microsoft released a big patch rollup for those of you who run the latest Windows 10 January Technical Preview, build 9926. KB 3035129, also called the Windows 10 Technical Preview Update Rollup: January 27, 2015, treats a host of ills, as documented in the KB article. A fault in a widely used component of most Linux distributions could allow an attacker to take remote control of a system after merely sending a malicious email.The vulnerability, nicknamed "Ghost," is in the GNU C Library known as glibc, according to security vendor Qualys, which disclosed the issue on Tuesday as many Linux distributions released patches. The FCC on Tuesday warned that it will no longer tolerate hotels, convention centers or others intentionally interfering with personal Wi-Fi hotspots.This issue grabbed headlines last fall when Marriott International was fined $600K for blocking customer Wi-Fi hotspots, presumably to encourage the guests to pay for pricey Internet access from the hotel.
