Community Choice Project of the Month for December
For our December "Community Choice" Project of the Month the community selected SCons, a superior alternative to the make utility and autoconf build tools. SCons analyzes source code file dependencies and operating system (OS) adaptation requirements to generate a binary executable for installation on the target OS. SCons is implemented as a Python script and set of modules, and SCons "configuration files" are actually executed as Python scripts. This gives SCons many powerful capabilities not found in other software build tools. Download SCons now.

A Closing Note from Your Community Team...
Open Source software has emerged as the driving force of technology innovation, from the Cloud and Big Data to social media and mobile. The time when Open Source was considered the wave of the future is past. With news of Microsoft dragging its feet into the Open Source gateway, we might assume that Open Source innovation just reached its apex. However, nothing is further from the truth; Microsoft is just the last tech giant into the gate. As a recentData Center Knowledge article suggests, we don't always know which open source project will be the next big thing, so we treat both old and new projects respectfully. With this, the SourceForge community remains connected to its roots, which has us working together to solve problems. A special thanks to you, our community, for all you do to help us share the fruits of all our labors with others.
Happy Holidays!
