News from The Hill House GOP bashes McConnell on immigration; Boehner mum on next steps By Rebecca Shabad Rank-and-file House Republicans on Wednesday bashed the Senate GOP’s plan to vote this week on a “clean” Homeland Security funding bill, arguing they wanted to stand firm in attacking President Obama’s immigration actions. While a few House Republicans said they were prepared to vote for a bill without the immigration measures, many more loudly criticized Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) approach as they left a closed-door conference meeting.
