Telefonica Q4 hit by Venezuela exchange rate; upbeat on future sales
Telefonica's Q4 results were impacted by adjustment of Venezuela’s exchange rate, which lopped off €2.18 billion from revenue, but the Spanish and Latin American giant maintained its transformation strategy was still on track.

Gemalto admits it was “probably” hacked but downplays impact
Following its own investigation, SIM card vendor Gemalto admitted it was “probably” hacked by US and UK security services but said the attacks “could not have resulted in a massive theft of SIM encryption keys”.

Mobily shares suspended after revision of 2014 results
Saudi Arabia’s financial regulator, Capital Market Authority, suspended the trading of operator Mobily’s shares on the country’s stock exchange, following a revision of the company’s 2014 financial results.

VimpelCom hit by currency falls in Russia, Ukraine
Jo Lunder, CEO of Amsterdam-headquartered VimpelCom, which operates in 14 countries, said he expected the “operating environment to remain difficult in 2015” as the operator presented a bruised set of Q4 and full-year financial results.
