The WorldPost Future Series is a set of conferences that will explore the social and economic transformation fostered by rapid technological advance -- and how these tumultuous changes will impact daily life in our communities, our families and in the workplace.
The inaugural conference, which will take place in London on March 5th and 6th, will focus on The Future of Work. The event -- with the theme "Prepare to Be Disrupted" -- will bring together leading thinkers, economists and tech entrepreneurs to examine both the possibilities and perils that are arising from the shift to a perpetually innovating knowledge-driven economy. We'll look at everything from how big data can more efficiently bring together producers and consumers to the peril of jobs being displaced by intelligent automation. We'll consider how flexible hours can enable family-friendly workplaces, but also address the worry that a new class of precarious part-time, low-wage work -- a "precariat" -- may be the end result of the sharing economy. Every company, every family and every individual must figure out how to cope and thrive in this new environment that never powers down. Featured speakers will include LinkedIn's Reid Hoffman, Google's Eric Schmidt, MIT's Andrew McAfee, Steve Jobs biographer Walter Isaacson, top equity fund manager David Bonderman, HuffPost founderArianna Huffington, former European Commission Vice PresidentNeelie Kroes and economists Laura Tyson and Nouriel Roubiniamong many others. For more information and to be put on the waitlist for the conference, please visit the WorldPost Conference website and follow the conference on Twitter at @WPFutureSeries. |
