ATLANTA SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2015
CDC is a proud partner of the Atlanta Science Festival, a weeklong celebration of local science and technology held March 21-28, 2015. Scientists and educators from local colleges, museums and companies will uncover mysteries and explain discoveries in hands-on activities, facility tours, stimulating presentations, and riveting performances for adults and children of all ages. Events will occur daily across the metro area culminating with the Exploration Expo on March 28th at Centennial Olympic Park. Below are two events sponsored by the CDC Museum. Both are free with advanced registration.

CDC Museum, Lower Level Teens (age 13-18), Educators Free with Advanced Registration. Sign up here.
This event will help middle- and high-school students learn about careers in public health by interacting with current CDC personnel. Visitors can expect to speak one-on-one with CDC professionals to learn about the diversity of scientific careers in public health. Note that the event will take place in the lower level of the CDC Museum; access to the rest of CDC’s campus is restricted.

Visit the CDC Museum for a fun and interactive family tour ofGYRE: The Plastic Ocean, an exhibit about plastic debris in our oceans. Visitors will tour the exhibit, participate in a scavenger hunt, and challenge each other in a quiz. This tour is not appropriate for small children.

ASF Info For Educators
The online Educator Toolkit has everything teachers and youth development leaders need to engage with the Atlanta Science Festival. Through the toolkit, you can download and distribute a classroom flyer and discover other Festival events for K-12 teachers and students. CDC Disease Detective Camp
The David J. Sencer CDC Museum will offer its popular summer programs for students in 2015.
This week-long day camp for rising high school juniors and seniors that exposes students to epidemiology, the field of public health and the diverse career opportunities within the field of public health. Two separate, but identical iterations of the camp are held each summer.
