Hello subscriber,
March 14 (3.14) has come to be known as Pi Day. This is a holiday that both bakers and math lovers are quick to rally around.
In addition to thecaramelized banana cream pie and key lime pie we are featuring on Stir It Up! this week, we have 23 pie recipes for you to look through as well.
Unlike most math equations, pie is a simple problem to solve. Its welcoming circular crust can be filled with fruit, rich creamy centers, and even savory fillings. Not a lot can go wrong when baking a dessert pie, and any “mistakes” can be covered up with a dollop of whipped cream.
In New England, having pie for breakfast has a long history. And since Pi Day falls on a Saturday this year, we think that’s a fine tradition to honor.
