‘Siberian Express’ Could Set 100 Record-Low Temps Tomorrow

‘Siberian Express’ Approaches 
A record-breaking blast of cold air — from Siberia — will send temperatures plunging 25-35 degrees below average for millions of Americans tomorrow. As many as 100 record-low temps are expected, including -2 in Nashville and 15 below zero in Michigan. Chicago is already having its coldest winter since 1875 and in Baltimore, a water main break today froze a car to the street.

Exxon’s Quake-Like Explosion 
Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the thunderous explosion at Exxon’s oil refinery in Torrance, Calif., today. Four workers were injured when the blast ripped apart buildings, damaged cars, sent flames into the sky, and shook the ground like an earthquake. While no harmful air emissions were detected, officials issued a smoke advisory.

ISIS’ Spread 
The ISIS virus is consuming the Middle East and now the militants claim they will strike at Italy. After months of U.S-led airstrikes, ISIS is still advancing. Iraqi officials say 48 of their fighters were burned alive in al-Baghdadi recently, near a base with hundreds of U.S. Marines. Iraq, reportedly where the worst attacks have happened, is also where Washington claims it’s making progress. Richard Engel reports.

‘American Sniper’ Trial 
Defendant Eddie Ray Routh’s girlfriend took the stand today and described him acting bizarrely in the day’s leading up to the crime. She recounted him threatening her with a Ninja sword and said he called her a demon, but then proposed the night before he shot Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield. After the killings, Routh drove to his sister’s house — and she testified that he at the time “was not who I know as my brother.”

Jeb Bush 2016? 
Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush offered the first clues into his foreign policy strategy today in a speech that blasted President Obama, talked tough on ISIS and addressed his own family legacy. "I love my brother, I love my dad,” he said, “but I am my own man.” Still, aides say Jeb Bush has been consulting with 20 veterans of George W. Bush’s administrations, including Paul Wolfowitz.
