It’s World Radio Day on Friday– a day all about celebrating radio and why we love it – and Splash has lots of videos, articles and audio clips to help get students tuned in to the airwaves. Read about how a school radio project can help boost literacy, learn about world music and find out why they say “Roger” during radio transmissions.
We have another fantastic competition! Students just need to sketch the cover of their favourite book from last year, or one of its characters, and write a mini book review of up to 25 words. Three lucky students will win a $50 ABC Shop voucher. Students can enter as many times as they like!
Find out all about symmetry with this collection of videos and games. Which shapes can fold into themselves, which shapes have more than one line of symmetryand what’s a right angle? Students can watch the videos and then test their knowledge with theShape Sorter game.
Congratulations to last week’s Challenge winner! (Check ourFacebook page to see who won.) To be in the running for this week's $30 ABC Shop voucher, tell us in under 25 words why you love radio. Email your response tosplash@abc.net.au by midday Monday 16 February. Good luck!
