News from The Hill Momentum builds for $174B Medicare fix By Peter Sullivan and Sarah Ferris Momentum is building in Congress for a proposal that would abolish Medicare cuts, top Republicans said Thursday, despite the emerging battle over the $174 billion price tag. The package being discussed by House leaders in both parties would partially pay for the cost of the $174 billion fix, sources say. The legislation got a lift Thursday from Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah).
