In an exclusive interview with Israel News, former Mossad Chief Meir Dagan listed a collection of criticisms that, for me, lead to the conclusion that Netanyahu, Israel's clone of Dick Cheney, is an incompetent, dangerous for Israel, bumbling idiot.
What can possibly prevent Europe from becoming, over the long run, a Muslim polity, and how can Europe's leaders gain the freedom to deal with this issue?

ISIS Derangement Syndrome The question is not whether to make the disaster worse, but exactly how to do it.
Why is Netanyahu acting like a bull in a diplomatic china shop, and doing so at the cost of imperiling relations with the US, when his own advisers say there is no obvious Iranian threat and a deal is unlikely? Scaremongering about Iran has proved a winning formula for Netanyahu, who looks about to secure a third consecutive term as prime minister at next month's general election.
The circus: How British intelligence primed both sides of the 'terror war'
Varoufakis either doesn't understand what he signed or thinks he can implement his own plan without too much interference from the Eurogroup. Either way, there's probably going to be a confrontation given the vast disparity in the way the agreement is being interpreted. He will not have a four-month grace period to experiment with his pro-growth, anti-austerity economic policies. He'll be expected to toe the line from Day 1.
This is a look at human behavior in relation to what is instinctive and what is rational.

Afghanistan War: Forgotten but not over. Instead of Obama ending the Afghanistan War responsibly, he is going to keep it going for another decade.
Most who identify themselves as pro-life are not really pro-life, but simply anti-abortion. Otherwise, child sacrifice is perfectly acceptable and even celebrated.

Apple Agrees To Chinese Government Security Audits, Worrying Activists Apple has agreed to allow the Chinese government run security audits on the new iPhone to prove that there is no back door access for the U.S. government. However, activists say that this agreement could have the opposite effect, allowing China to broaden spying on its own people.
Arizona will soon require high school students to pass a civics exam in order to graduate. Here are a few questions that they might not include.
Senator Elizabeth Warren has thus far only asked for Boehner to postpone the speech, a lukewarm request she had to know will be ignored. Will Warren, the progressive presidential hoped-for candidate attend the speech? Will she follow Senator Kaine's example and stand with her president? Or will she join the cheering throng that chooses to attend the speech?
The latest twist took place this week, when a New York City jury sided with the plaintiffs in a Shurat HaDin-supported lawsuit filed by victims of Palestinian bombings carried out in 2004 in Israel, and which alleged that the Palestinian Authority and Palestine Liberation Organization sanctioned the attacks.
Central to the project of what we now call capitalism has been the eradication, and marginalization of competing ownership and business models along with the deification of private property and free (if "free" simply means free of democratic oversight) markets.

So do you believe in God? I ask this question every now and then to those who say they are Christian. When I ask them to prove there is a God, I am surprised they can't.
How can the U.S. be "pro-Israel" if it is assisting and training anti-Semites?
The research team identified what astronomers call an "intermediate-mass black hole" (IMBH). Black holes are known to come into 2 main classes: stellar-mass black holes that are around 5-30 times the mass of the Sun, and supermassive black holes, which are found at the center of most galaxies and weigh millions or even billions times the Sun's mass. Astronomers have been looking very hard for these medium-sized black holes. Further studies of NGC2276-3c could provide insight into how black holes in the early Universe influence their surroundings, and close an important gap in the black hole family tree. "In paleontology, the discovery of certain fossils can help scientists fill in the evolutionary gaps between different dinosaurs. "We do the same thing in astronomy, but we often have to 'dig' up our discoveries in galaxies that are millions of light years away."
A new type of methane-based, oxygen-free life form that can metabolize and reproduce similar to life on Earth has been modeled by a team of Cornell University researchers. What if cells weren't based on water, but on methane, which has a much lower freezing point? Taking a simultaneously imaginative and rigidly scientific view, chemical engineers and astronomers offer a template for life that could thrive in a harsh, cold world - specifically Titan, the giant moon of Saturn. A planetary body awash with seas not of water, but of liquid methane, Titan could harbor methane-based, oxygen-free cells. Their theorized cell membrane, composed of small organic nitrogen compounds and capable of functioning in liquid methane temperatures of 292 degrees below zero, is published in Science Advances, Feb. 27. "Ours is the first concrete blueprint of life not as we know it."
Gary Webb's story is essential for understanding how the US government can engage in covert conspiracies, cover them up, and destroy journalists who challenge the CIA. Kill the Messenger is out on DVD now, and it tells the tragic story of how Webb was attacked by the government's mainstream media lackeys and driven out of the journalism profession.
Democrats Are Losing Some Skirmishes, But Many Feel They Are Winning a Political War
Democrats lacked the votes Friday to force Republicans to fund the department for a year with no strings. Still, even some Republicans say party leaders are on a perilous path with a very public ideological struggle only highlighting the GOP's inability to pass contested legislation and possibly worsening its weak relationship with Hispanic voters.
Robert Redford, Kevin Spacey, Edward Norton, and other actors narrate a series of videos released Monday by Conservation International designed to send a blunt message about humans' impact on the planet: "Nature doesn't need people. People need nature." Designed by advertising legend Lee Clow, who cocreated Apple's seminal "1984" commercial, the Nature Is Speaking videos debuted Monday morning at the opening of the SXSW Eco conference. The initial six videos are gorgeous montages of oceans, forests, and deserts delivered alongside a message that isn't so pretty. The videos will be shown on Virgin America flights, Starwood Resorts will feature them on its hotel television network, and Pearl Jam will run the series at concerts, as will the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Nature Is Speaking also will be featured at the United Nations climate change conference in Lima, Peru...
Petraeus stands to lose as he faces a possible criminal indictment two years after an extramarital affair cost him his job as director of the Central Intelligence Agency. These days he keeps a far lower profile in a capital where he was once celebrated as the greatest general of his generation. "He's doing a lot of work for Kravis, but obviously this investigation has prevented him from playing a larger role," said Senator John McCain, the Arizona Republican who is chairman of the Armed Services Committee and a Petraeus ally. "His voice has been muted." F.B.I. agents and Justice Department prosecutors have recommended that Mr. Petraeus face trial on felony charges of disclosing classified information to his biographer and lover at the time, Paula Broadwell.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) took the top spot for the third year in a row at Saturday's Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll, edging out Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wis.) as the favorite in the last CPAC presidential preference contest before primary voting begins. Paul had been the prohibitive favorite heading into this year's balloting, which featured 17 candidates. More than 3,000 attendees voted, a 20 percent increase over 2014's turnout.
Bolivian President Evo Morales has a 76 percent approval rating amongst Bolivians, according to an IPSOS survey released Wednesday. This figure surpasses the support Morales received in presidential elections held last October, where the president was re-elected in with 61 percent of the votes. A separate survey conducted by the Association of Political Communication last week found that Evo Morales was among some of the most popular presidents in the world.
World leaders led by David Cameron and Barack Obama have condemned the killing of prominent Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, who was shot dead in Moscow on Friday evening. Nemtsov, a former deputy prime minister and a sharp critic of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, was reportedly shot four times in the back by a killer in a passing car. The US president called on Russia's government to conduct a "prompt, impartial and transparent" investigation, describing Nemtsov as a "tireless advocate" for citizens' rights and fighting corruption.
We must teach our children US history accurately and inform the world about the essentials of human rights. Jefferson noted in a letter to Madison: "And say, finally, whether peace is best preserved by giving energy to the government, or information to the people. This last is the most certain, and the most legitimate engine of government. Educate and inform the whole mass of the people. Enable them to see that it is their interest to preserve peace and order, and they will preserve them.... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
