BREAKING NEWS: Wall Street Plunges at the Opening Bell

U.S. equity markets plummeted on Tuesday after disappointing fourth-quarter earnings from Dow heavyweights Caterpillar, Microsoft, and United Technologies weighed on the index, while traders also eyed weaker-than-expected data. As of 9:30 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial average fell 215 points, or 1.2%. The S&P dropped 0.93%, and the Nasdaq tumbled 1.6%.
