Gemalto plays down impact of hacking report
Leading SIM card vendor Gemalto said initial inquiries show its products are secure and it does not expect to suffer a significant financial impact, following last week’s report that encryption keys were hacked by US and UK security agencies.

Orange buys out Orascom stake in Egypt’s Mobinil
Orange Group, in a deal worth a shade under €210 million, exercised a call option to purchase all shares and voting rights held by Orascom Telecom Media and Technology (OTMT) in the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (ECMS), which runs the Mobinil brand.

Dish chief to step down
Joseph Clayton is set to retire as president and CEO of Dish Network, US satellite broadcaster and controversial spectrum winner, to be replaced by founder and chairman Charlie Ergen.
