Above Board

General web

react-canvas [github/flipboard], developed by the team at Flipboard, gives React components the ability to render to < canvas> rather than the DOM, speeding up the feel of mobile apps. Here’s their introductory blog post for a bit more context [engineering.flipboard] (thanks Kelle!).
Speaking of React, Reapp [github/reapp] is a collection of modules to make React and ES6 a bit easier-to-use.
And React Router [github/rackt] is a routing library for React.
Also, imessageclient [github/camhenlin] is a NodeJS tool for sending iMessages via your terminal and via SSH.

Unfold

Design

If everyone’s fold is different, maybe there’s no such thing as “the fold” [iamthefold]?
Have fun playing around with gradients with this gradient toy thingy [jxblk].
SVG News [svg-news] looks like a great weekly newsletter for all interested in the world of SVG.

Compassé

SitePoint

Speaking of once cool things that maybe aren’t as used now, our resident Sass guru Hugo Giraudel reckons Compass isn’t necessary anymore. What do you think?

QuitBit

News/business

And here’s Moz with a guide to doing keyword research in just an hour and half [moz].
Bad news: Your fitness trackers aren’t any more accurate than your phone [motherjones]. But you know, your phone is a giant rectangle so maybe they have advantages in other areas.
Here’s Re/code with a nice little history of Google Maps [recode].

Swipe Out

Off-topic

Dropbox for Gmail [chrome.google] is a Chrome addon to let you send and preview Dropbox files from within Gmail. Super handy for sharing large files from your inbox.
If Tinder is too much work, here’s a bot to automate all that swiping [crockpotveggies], so you can get back to feeling alone.

That's it for us today, we're going to throw away our FitBits and just go back to what we did before: lie to everyone and ourselves about our physical activity. Huzzah!
