Energy Department Announces $10 Million to Develop Innovative Bioenergy Technologies The Energy Department’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) announces the selection of seven projects across the country to receive up to $10 million to support innovative technologies and solutions to help advance bioenergy development. These projects will support BETO’s work to develop renewable and cost-competitive biofuels from non-food biomass feedstocks by reducing the risk associated with potentially breakthrough approaches and technologies. The selected awardees are: Metabolix, Inc. in collaboration with North Carolina State University Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in collaboration with MicroBio Engineering Inc. The Ohio State University in collaboration with the University of Alabama and Green Biologics, Inc. The University of California, Riverside in collaboration with the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and CogniTek OPX Biotechnologies Kiverdi Inc. in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory The Gas Technology Institute in collaboration with W.R.
