‘World Mourns With Us’ 
Kayla Mueller’s family said “the world mourns with us” as they respond to word of her death. U.S. officials tell NBC News the family received a photograph of Mueller with trauma injuries that appeared to show her dead. As President Obama pledges to bring the terrorists responsible to justice, her family shared a letter that was smuggled out from her captivity: “I have a lot of fight left inside of me … I will not give up.”

LA Chase Caught on Tape 
A wild and dangerous pursuit was televised in LA yesterday as an armed man plowed through intersections, red lights and across jammed freeways for 45 minutes. After crashing his car, he carjacked another to keep going. The victim said she “just froze” when she saw him approach with a gun pointed at her.
