Four Reasons to Attend the 2015 Better Buildings Summit

—Jay Wrobel, Manager, Technical Assistance, Advanced Manufacturing Office
It’s May 27 through the 29th in Washington, D.C. and what better place to be than the 2015 Better Buildings Summit. Leading organizations from the commercial, industrial, public, and multifamily sectors will showcase different creative and cost saving ways to cut energy intensity in their plants and buildings at this Department of Energy (DOE) conference. Let me tell you why you should join us:

NETWORK

The 2014 Summit attracted more than 600 participants from leading companies like Wal-Mart, Ford, Best Buy, and General Mills; major cities like Atlanta, Cleveland, and Seattle; and states like Maryland and New York. If you’re there you can expect to meet with your peers in industry, technical experts, and other Better Plants Partners and allies. Our goal is to bring more than 800 stakeholders together this year.

LEARN

This year the Summit agenda includes dozens of presentations and workshops on a wide variety of key energy efficiency topics led by DOE and outside experts. There is a full day of content specific to the industrial sector as well as several cross-sector sessions relevant to manufacturers. Important industry-related sessions include:
  • Tapping into the Department of Energy’s Portfolio of Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Resources
  • Energy Efficiency’s Role in Adapting to a New Manufacturing Energy Landscape
  • Ending the Tyranny of the 2-Year Payback: Effective Industrial Financing Strategies
  • Savings Bonanza: Industrial Energy Efficiency Programs that Work

CELEBRATE

You worked hard and now it’s time to let the rest of the world know what you accomplished. The Summit will recognize Better Plants Partners for their energy efficiency achievements.

LOOK INTO THE FUTURE

And who doesn’t want to do that? DOE’s Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) will be holding its peer review concurrently with the Summit. If you come to the Summit you will have a unique opportunity to learn more about the cutting edge manufacturing-related R&D programs funded by the Department. Get a chance to talk with project experts at a special AMO poster session.
