Hi ! Sap season is almost here. We usually tap the trees on Daytona Sunday, but each year is different. Last year the sap flowed for a week then stopped. This year I am building a DIY Sap Evaporator out of a metal file cabinet. I'll start working on it this weekend. I wrapped the hives in 2" polystyrene, as temps dropped lower than normal. It seems like a no-brainer, but never thought of this idea until my friend Bill, who has the farm where the bees are, suggested it. I'll post the video on this next week. Stop Slipping On Ice. We use Stabilicers on our boots and they work great. The Maxx and Hike models are good. Get a model that has an over-the-shoe strap.
