New Vids: Yogurt Making, Hoop Houses, Grow Lights, No Knead Bread Baking Tips

Hi !

I know spring is near. Its still light outside at 5 pm. This is a good thing. I need sunlight. I also need yogurt. So I made some.

Spring is also the time when I get a bunch of questions about growing garlic, and I have to tell people that its best if you plant it in the fall. I haven't seen great garlic when its planted in spring. If you left some garlic heads in the ground by accident, they will sprout this spring. Try to separate them carefully and replant.  Check out ourhow to grow garlic video here.

Even more interesting are the garlic questions I get from people overseas, and I unfortunately know nothing about how to grow it in other climates. I'm wondering if they have some sort of agriclutural extension office like we have?

Lots of good feedback on the hoop house cold frames. I will post some more gardening vids next week. My newest hoop house is still upright despite some heavy snows. I think the improved support and higher roof help resist the snow.

Stop Slipping On Ice. We use Stabilicers on our boots and they work great. The Maxx and Hike models are good. Get a model that has an over-the-shoe strap. I use these in the yard, on hikes, and on sidewalks. Available On Amazon here.

Measuring makes all the difference  As I bake more bread, I've found that using a scale to measure instead of measuring cups makes a huge difference. No Knead Bread comes out great every time, no more of those lunker loaves. I use this $30 scale from OXO
Available On Amazon Here.
