Kauffman Foundation Calls for Entrepreneurial Renewal
Kauffman Foundation Acting President and CEO Wendy Guillies called for economic renewal through a new entrepreneurial boom led by Baby Boomers and Millennials at the Foundation's sixth annual State of Entrepreneurship Address. Presented this week at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Guillies unveiled data from a new report that analyzes the potential of aging and rising generations to shape entrepreneurship. The event featured remarks from Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, along with a panel of experts and policymakers.

Some Valentine's Love for Your Startup
Bruce Mancinelli, a serial high-tech entrepreneur and Kauffman FastTrac® program manager and facilitator, will be featured during this month's installment of the Kauffman FastTrac Author Series. Mancinelli drew on his lifelong experience managing and mentoring high-tech companies to write Fifty Ways to Love Your Startup. The free webinar will be held Wednesday, February 18, at 10 a.m. (CST).

Report Measures How Taxes Impact Entrepreneurship
A new research paper funded by the Kauffman Foundation examines how the current U.S. tax system affects incentives to invest and how those might change under various tax reforms. Prepared by the Tax Policy Center, the report focuses on entrepreneurial ventures and firms large and small that invest in new ideas. Titled "Tax Policy and Investment by Startups and Innovative Firms," the paper analyzes several tax incentives designed to encourage investment in research and development by small businesses.
