TechFlash: D.C., Howard partner to build space for VC firms; D.C. tech to SXSW

​D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced Wednesday that the city will enter into a partnership with Howard University to offer below-market rent for on-campus space to venture capital firms.
The former CEO and co-founder of Blackboard, who has also been actively investing in ed-tech startups, believes the concept of massive open online courses is still a viable one and could open higher education to "a class of people who can't currently afford it."
