​About 50,000 drivers for Uber Technologies may have had their information exposed after a data breach at the San Francisco startup last year.
Unlike other insurance policies that are solely intended to cover costs of a worst case scenario, cyber insurance emerged with a bit of an ulterior motive: to give companies an incentive to be more secure. That was the theory, anyway.
The encrypted blackphone creator has raised enough cash from investors to buy full ownership of its key product.
The San Francisco-based rental platform may see its valuation jump more than 50 percent since late last year.
It works similarly to Kickstarter, but is a little more exclusive.
