The world of work is changing. Gone are the days of guaranteed full-time work with benefits. Today, barely half of working adults in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area have full-time, permanent jobs with benefits and some degree of security. Join us for Just-In-Time Jobs, a CBC Toronto's town hall on the changing face of employment. Moderated by Metro Morning's Matt Galloway.

Canada Reads Warm Up in Toronto

What is the one book to break barriers? That's the question to answer in the 14th edition of Canada Reads, CBC's battle of the books. Celebrate the launch of Canada Reads right here in Toronto with a special Canada Reads event hosted by CBC's Mary Ito.

Featured guests include:
  • Kristin Kreuk who is defending Intolerable and author Kamal Al-Solaylee will join us via Skype.
  • Raziel Reid, author of When Everything Feels like the Movies
  • Kim Thúy, author of Ru
  • Hayden King, who will talk about The Inconvenient Indian by Thomas King. Hayden is Pottawatomi and Ojibwe from Beausoleil First Nation on Gchimnissing (Christian Island) in Huronia, Ontario and Director of the Centre for Indigenous Governance in the Faculty of Arts at Ryerson University.
