Prescription Opioid Analgesic Use Among Adults:United States, 1999–2012
During 2007–2012, the use of opioid analgesics was higher among women (7.2%) than men (6.3%). Women aged 20–39 also were less likely (5.2%) than those aged 40–59 (8.0%) or 60 and over (8.6%) to use opioid analgesics.
Trends in Long-acting Reversible Contraception Use Among U.S. Women Aged 15–44
Use of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) declined between 1982 and 1988, remained stable through 2002, and then increased nearly five­ fold in the last decade among women aged 15–44, from 1.5% in 2002 to 7.2% in 2011–2013.

Implementation of a Statewide Surveillance System for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome — Tennessee, 2013
The first year's surveillance results highlight the need for primary prevention activities focused on reducing dependence/addiction among women of childbearing age and preventing unintended pregnancy among female opioid users.
Mortality Among Blacks or African Americans with HIV Infection — United States, 2008–2012
Among black females, the death rate among those with HIV infection attributed to heterosexual contact (17.9)  was lower compared with the rate among those black females with infection attributed to injection drug use.
For Healthcare Professionals: Adult Immunization Schedules, United States, 2015
Each year, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) reviews the recommended adult (anyone over 18 years old) immunization schedule to ensure that the schedule reflects current recommendations for the licensed vaccines.
Chikungunya in the Cook Islands
CDC recommends that travelers to the Cook Islands protect themselves from mosquito bites. CDC advises travelers in high-risk groups to discuss their travel plans with their health care provider, including women who are late in their pregnancies, because of the risk to babies born at the time their mother is sick.
Transmission of Hepatitis C Virus Associated with Surgical Procedures — New Jersey 2010 and Wisconsin 2011
In one case, a female health care worker (patient A) underwent a uterine dilation and curettage procedure at the facility where she worked. Occurrence of these two unrelated cases of health care–associated HCV infection highlights the importance of hepatitis C surveillance and investigations of possible health care transmission.
Syphilis Profiles, 2013
The profiles provide an overview of primary and secondary (P&S) syphilis and congenital syphilis morbidity in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The profiles consist of figures and tables of data on P&S and congenital syphilis from the U.S. states and territories through 2013.
