Greetings Colleagues—

This provides information about the NCVHS meetings February 2015 at the National Center for Health Statistics in Hyattsville, Maryland.  The Full Committee will meet February 24-25 and take action on a summary report from the October 2014 Roundtable on Supporting Community Data Engagement, organized by the Population Health Subcommittee.  Briefings will include an update on a Health Systems Monitoring Project—An Approach to Monitoring Health Systems Change, and the Early Release Program from the NCHS National Health Interview Survey.  The Committee will also review plans to operationalize the tasks of a newly assigned Review Committee established by the Affordable Care Act to review adopted health data standards and operating rules.

NCVHS Subcommittees successfully met in Full plenary last year, and the members will review their expectations in Work Planfor 2015.  The NCVHS Working Group on Health Data Access and Use will meet directly after the full Committee the afternoon of February 25th, and will focus on Building a Framework for Guiding Principles for Data Access and Use.

The Standards Subcommittee will meet Thursday, February 26th to review and discuss the current status of selected administrative simplification topics of interest to NCVHS.  The objectives are to consider the Operating Rules presented for adoption for four HIPAA transactions: Health Care Claims, Enrollment/Disenrollment, Premium Payment, Prior Authorization; and also to discuss and consider suggestions of the Review Committee evaluation criteria for existing standards, code sets, identifiers, and operating rules.

Please review the agendas for these meetings on the NCVHS Homepage where a link to a webcast will also be available on the day of the meeting—all three days of the meetings will be broadcast online via WebEx.

Thank you for your interest in these activities.
