PEARL HARBOR (Feb. 14, 2015) Lt. Erik Guiremand, formerly assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60), casts a line as the ship departs from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for a scheduled independent deployment to the Arabian Gulf and western Pacific Ocean. Paul Hamilton and its crew will conduct theater security cooperation and maritime presence operations with partner nations. Mitscher is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
