An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from the Chargers of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 14 hovers over Range Support Craft (RSC) 1 in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego. The HSC-14 and the Raptors of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 71 are conducting helicopter visit, board, search, and seizure training. Sailors man the rails as the forward deployed San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) arrives in Sasebo, Japan. Green Bay is replacing the decommissioned Austin-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9), previously forward-deployed to Sasebo, and will enhance amphibious presence in the U.S. 7th Fleet as part of the U.S. Navy's long-range plan to send the most advanced and capable units to the Asia-Pacific region.
