'WE COULD HAVE BURIED TWO POLICE OFFICERS OVER THIS' It was an ambush. Two police officers were shot outside the Ferguson Police Department during a demonstration late Wednesday night. One officer was shot in the face, the other in the shoulder. The shootings came hours after officials announced Police Chief Thomas Jackson, whose department received scathing criticism from the Justice Department for racially biased policing, had resigned. St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said the two were admitted to the hospital in serious condition, but were released today and are not expected to have long-term injuries. He said police don't have a suspect but have recovered shell casings from the scene. The shooting sparked an impassioned conversation on social media with the hashtag #BlueLivesMatter.

POWDERED ALCOHOL IS APPROVED FOR SALE IN THE U.S. — SPRINKLE RESPONSIBLY Bottoms up. The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau approved a new product today called Palcohol . It's a dried form of alcohol that's mixed with water to create a cocktail. The creator says he thought up the product because he wanted alcohol you could carry on-the-go. Sounds like it could boot wine as the new hostess gift. So how does it work? One packet of Palcohol equals one shot. Flavors it'll come in: vodka, rum, cosmopolitan, powderita (which is like a margarita) and lemon drop. It's expected to be available this summer, but concerns over safety have already led several states to ban powdered alcohol, and other states are considering legislation. Critics are worried people may try to snort it. Or mix it with their drink to make it even stronger. Sprinkle responsibly, people.

They walked off the court in the middle of the game and confronted the bullies , telling them to stop. Since the incident, Andrews and the three ballplayers have become friends. The school even decided to affectionately re-name their gym "D's House." Watch this video to hear Andrews talk about what the tribute means to her. EIGHT DAYS OLD, AND THIS BABY IS ALREADY SWADDLED IN CONTROVERSY A photo of a newborn baby resting in an American flag has been met with a virtual fist-shaking campaign. The baby's father dons a U.S. Navy uniform and is holding the resting baby in the image. A Facebook page named "You Call Yourself a Photographer?" blasted photographer Vanessa Hicks, a Navy veteran herself, for using the flag as a prop and dishonoring uniform and flag codes. The comments got nasty enough that Hicks reached out to Facebook, saying she was being bullied. Facebook disagreed. The photography Facebook page defended its comments. "Are business reviews considered bullying?"
