Nintendo fans have all the more reason to sign up for Netflix. The Wall Street Journal reports that the company is in the process of developing a new live-action series based on The Legend of Zelda. The series is reportedly in early stages, as the streaming company courts writers, but sources say Netflix wants it to resemble Game of Thrones but with a more family-friendly tone.

Every now and then a movie can make you break inside, your capacity for rational thought collapsing beneath the weight of the inane, the confusing, the spectacularly boring. These are the moments that lead sensible people to just say fuck it, pick up their Red Vines and soda, and head for the nearest exit. Life’s too short, they say. If I really want to finish this, it’ll be on Netflix, they say. I didn’t spend $20 and drive here to make my life demonstrably worse, they say.

The second season of HBO's Silicon Valley is already promising whole new levels of realness — or at least Erlich smoking a lot more weed while the rest of the cast bangs away at making their startup successful. After taking TechCrunch Disrupt by storm, the band is now off to the races. Things will probably go hilariously awry, in true Mike Judge fashion. The new season premieres on April 12th.

The airwaves are littered with the rival successors to TV’s so-called “golden age,” but only one has spawned a straight-up spin-off. Better Call Saul, which premieres Sunday on AMC, focuses on the early life of “criminal lawyer” Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) when he was struggling lawyer Jimmy McGill, six years before the events of Breaking Bad. And spoiler alert — it’s excellent.
