 | State of Entrepreneurship Address Coming to You Live Next Week
The Kauffman Foundation will livestream its annual State of Entrepreneurship Address on Wednesday, February 11. Held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., the sixth annual gathering will highlight two demographic trends—the aging of America’s Boomers and the maturation of Millennials—that will shape the future of entrepreneurship in America. This year’s event will include remarks by Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and Small Business Administration Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, along with a panel of experts and lawmakers who will discuss the entrepreneurship policy environment impacting these demographic groups. Beginning today, Americans can vote on which demographic group they think will have the greatest impact on entrepreneurship and what policy idea will be most beneficial to that group.

Kauffman Foundation researchers set the stage for next week’s State of Entrepreneurship Address by looking at trends in new business creation and the roles Baby Boomers and Millennials could play to revive a sluggish economy. Writing for Forbes.com, Jordan Bell-Masterson, research analyst, and E.J. Reedy, director of research at the Kauffman Foundation, say that new and young businesses account for a disproportionate share of net job creation and innovative activity in the U.S. economy.
