Spotlight on New FEMP Funding OpportunityLetters of Intent (LOI) are due by April 6, 2015, and full applications are due by May 20, 2015. Applicants must submit a LOI to be eligible to submit a full application. To apply to AFFECT, applicants must register with and submit application materials through the EERE Exchange. NewsFEMP Covered Product Categories Website UpdatedFederal agencies are required by five legal authorities, the Energy Security and Independence Act of 2007, the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Executive Order (E.O.) 13423, and E.O. 13221, to use energy-efficient products. By procuring and properly installing efficient products, agencies can meet their requirements, lower energy and water consumption, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and save money. To help buyers meet these requirements, FEMP updated 10 covered product category pages, the covered product category FEMP landing page and table, and the downloadable product list. Spring FUPWG Registration Now Open Take advantage of this opportunity to fulfill federally mandated training requirements and expand your network at the Spring 2015 Federal Utility Partnership Working Group (FUPWG) Seminar which will be hosted by the Tennessee Valley Authority and will take place April 22-23 in Nashville, TN. FUPWG fosters communication between federal agencies, specific sites, and utilities to implement cost-effective energy efficiency and water conservation projects. Nomination Period for 2015 Federal Energy and Water Management Awards Open The Awards Nomination website is now open to accept nominations and all final nominations must be submitted through the nomination site by April 30, 2015. FEMP is also offering a one-hour informational webinar on March 19 that will provide an overview of the 2015 Federal Energy and Water Management Awards criteria and eligibility requirements, as well as tips on how to prepare nomination narratives. March 19, 2015 Webcast (Live Training): Informational Webinar on the AFFECT FOA The webinar will highlight the FOA that was issued on March 6, 2015. The AFFECT grant will provide funding for renewable energy projects at federal facilities that are incorporated into a privately financed performance contract, such as an energy savings performance contract (ESPC) or utility energy service contract (UESC), or as part of a renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA). Back To The Top Conferences and In-Person Training OpportunitiesData Center Energy Practitioner TrainingApril 19-20 - Las Vegas, NV FEMP has partnered with the data center industry to implement a program to standardize the process of evaluating the energy status and efficiency opportunities in data centers. This one- or three- day training will provide individuals with the skills needed to perform accurate energy assessments in data centers. The key objective of the Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) Program is to accelerate energy savings in the dynamic and energy-intensive marketplace of data centers. Students completing the course are eligible to take an examination to become a certified energy practitioner.
