Green Chemistry Webinar: TODAY!

ACS
Dear ACS Student Chapters,

If you are interested in being recognized as a Green Chemistry ACS Student Chapter, you have a chance to participate in tomorrow's webinar, " Making Plastic Greener Through Next Generation Polymers" and earn an activity point, which will go towards one of three in order to apply for the Green Chemistry Student Chapter Award.

In order for this to count as an activity point, you must complete the steps below:
  1. Create a student chapter event to participate in the webinar
  2. Watch the live webinar presentation as a chapter: Register for the webinar for free today!
  3. Once the webinar is complete, go over these discussion questions as a group:
  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of making sustainable polymers from sugar?

  • What performance characteristic of a sustainable polymer is the most important?

  • What is the best disposal route for sustainable polymers: composting, recycling, landfilling or incineration?

  • Document your group participation by taking a group photo, tweeting @acswebiars and @ACSGCI mentioning your participation, engage in the discussion questions with others online etc. Get creative! (Make sure if you are engaging online to ping @ACSGCI!)
