1. Will data transform Ford?

Ford CEO Mark Fields' keynote at CES 2015 shows Ford moving away from being just an automobile and truck manufacturer and towards being a transportation analytics outfit: planning an "all-new model of transportation and mobility within the next 10 years."

Predicting human behavior with algorithms is a challenge, to say the least. (Humans are so unreliable.) But, Mary Shacklett says, a thick data analytics approach—using non-statistical human behavior analysis—could close the gaps in big data analytics.
