BREAKING: House fails to pass short-term homeland security funding bill

 House Republicans failed to garner enough votes to pass a three-week stopgap measure to prevent Department of Homeland Security funding from expiring at midnight. The legislation was an attempt to buy more time for House Republicans to decide how to respond to the Senate's rejection of a funding bill with provisions to derail President Obama's immigration programs. Earlier Friday, the Senate approved a competing full, annual spending bill with no immigration provisions attached.
