The SitePoint JavaScript Newsletter |
Hi, I'm James Hibbard and I'm stepping up to fill the boots of the enormously talented and recently-departed Colin Ihrig. Joining me as co-editor will be the very accomplished Aurelio De Rosa (more from him next time) and together we'll be working hard to take SitePoint's JavaScript channel to new and dizzying heights.
This week we take a look at isomorphic JavaScript—a way to write web applications that can run both on the client and the server. Aurelio asks if isomorphic apps are the future of the web, then (assuming they are, I guess) Craig Buckler walks you through making a small, environment-agnostic URL parsing library.
Elsewhere, Preetish Panda looks at what's new in AngularJS 2.0 (I'll give you a clue: almost everything), Ravi Kiran examines native change detection with Object.observe (which is coming our way in ES7) and Alexis Ulrich demonstrates how to add a Pinterest call-to-action on top of an image (because sharing is caring).
