Expanded Windows support on Google Cloud Platform
Google Compute Engine
We added three enhancements to Google Compute Engine so you can run highly performant Windows-based workloads. First, we're offering Microsoft License Mobility for Google Cloud Platform. Second, Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter Edition is now available to all Google Cloud Platform customers in beta on Google Compute Engine. And lastly, a version of the popular Chrome RDP app from Fusion Labs optimized for Google Cloud Platform is now available for free to our customers for use with Windows in Google Compute Engine. Learn more

Cloud Platform updates
Google Cloud Platform now PCI Data Security Standard Certified
Google Cloud Platform has been validated for compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards. The standard will enable you to hold, process or exchange cardholder information from any branded credit card on Google Cloud Platform. Learn more

Autoscaling on Google Compute Engine
Autoscaling allows customers to build more cost-effective and resilient applications. Using Google Compute Engine Autoscaling, you can ensure that exactly the right number of Compute Engine instances are available at any given time to handle your application's workload. Learn more

Cloud SQL instances now come with a free IPv6 address
The Internet is quickly running out of IPv4 addresses. The industry response to this issue has been to develop a new, much larger address space: IPv6 offers an abundance of available IPs. We are now assigning an immutable IPv6 address to every Google Cloud SQL instance and making these addresses available for free. Learn more
