Two men reached the summit of Yosemite National Park's El Capitan today, becoming the first free climbers to ascend the treacherous face of Dawn Wall. Kevin Jorgeson and Tommy Caldwell set out three weeks ago to reach the 3,000-foot-high summit using only their toes and fingers, hanging onto every crevice and niche. Their only safety net was a rope. |
