Millions remain hunkered down in New England where some parts are seeing up to up to 3 feet of blinding, whipping snow. Four states are under a state of emergency and Boston is paralyzed by a record 18-inches of snow. Massachusetts’ coastal towns are flooding, homes are battered, and in Marshfield the sea wall collapsed, covering the town in ice and sending residents to higher ground.

Travel Nightmare 
New York’s LaGuardia Airport had its first departure in more than 24 hours this afternoon, after the airlines cancelled 7,500 flights during the storm. Among those stranded were hundreds of passengers on a Virgin Atlantic flight bound for London. They sat on the plane for hours before it was cancelled. “We were unable to go anywhere and we had to sleep on the floor at JFK.”

Lunches With Love 
What started in an LA apartment among friends is now a global movement to bring homemade sandwiches to the homeless. It’s known as #lunchbag and there are endless photos of volunteers assembling slices of bread with messages of hope. “Your mom packed you a lunch and wrote you a note,” said creator Ajay Relan, “that's what we're doing for strangers.”
