Record high temperatures set in L.A., San Francisco, elsewhere

A March heat wave set new high temperature records for the date in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and other California cities today, according to the National Weather Service. The heat, caused by a high-pressure system, will continue Sunday, when the L.A. Marathon takes place.
