Alaska’s famous Iditarod sled dog race traditionally runs from Anchorage to Nome. But this year, lack of snow forced moved the kickoff 250 miles north.
On the day of the equinox, a supermoon - close to Earth - will swing in front of the sun to create a total eclipse seen from high northern latitudes and partial eclipse seen from Greenland, Iceland, Europe, northern Africa, the Middle East and northwestern Asia.
