Epigenome Roadmap

In contrast to the primary sequence of the genome the epigenetic landscape varies between cell and tissue types, contributing to define cell identity, lineage specification, and to the onset and progression of human disease. The NIH Roadmap Epigenomics Program was established to systematically characterize the epigenomic landscapes of selected primary human tissues and cells, to elucidate how epigenetic processes contribute to human biology and disease. Now, Nature Publishing Group presents an online portal — the Epigenome Roadmap — which collects key research papers in which main results of the project are analysed and discussed. Research papers are complemented by thematical ‘threads’ to help the readers mine the wealth of available information.
